Linda Gray saw an opportunity when the hollow stump of one of the Halesworth Town Park's glorious beeches had to be felled after becoming unsafe in 2014. The lads had spotted it first and had set a fire going inside it! The ashes and some good compost from Linda's compost heap made a good planting ground and Linda set about planting a rose. The first attempts were pulled out but it becomes boring when prickles keep on being replaced. The first picture shows the rose in its glory earlier this year. It is the Dunwich Rose. What Linda wants advice on now is should she prune it - see the second picture. We think its fine as it is. What is your advice?
