But, Frinton on Sea whom we warmly congratulate, won Best Small Town and pipped us of both the Biodiversity Award and that of Business Centre where we gained nominations for both from our Judges. Frinton also won the Drought Friendly Award for their Esplanade Rock Garden Frinton have been winning since 1994 including Britain in Bloom and much of their seaside gardens are managed by Tendring District Council rather like Nicholas Everett Park at Oulton Broad. We are still new on the block and last year we were lucky as they took a year off! There was one excitement at this Ceremony when Halesworth was called out as Winner of Best Small Town but it was short lived!!! We were told by our Judges that it was very close for which we should be extremely proud. Its a little like David and Goliath and we have not given up yet.
We gained another Silver for our Cemetery and a Silver Gilt for our Town Park to go with our Community Green Flag Award this Year. We also have the Royal Horticultural Society Greening Grey Britain National Award for our work at the Station.
But, considering everything we did really well to get another Gold for the Town. Thanks to everyone who helped us get three Golds in a row. Everyone contributed to this so we all get Gold! Don't Forget our Halesworth in Bloom awards will be given out at our Ceremony on Sunday November 20th at the CUT 5.00 - 7.00 pm
